Seed Solutions was recently named an eMerge Genetics seed dealer, providing the company access to eMerge Genetics’ complete lineup of premium non-GMO soybean varieties.

According to Jim Nelson, General Manager, the decision to add the eMerge Genetics product line to their seed offering is based primarily on the growing demand for non-GMO soybean seed in the marketplace. “Having worked with Schillinger Genetics for several years, I was well aware of their genetic leadership where other seed providers were being forced to focus on expensive traits that yielded only commodity prices. Farmers are seeing increased profitability and other advantages in non-GMO markets, especially in Central Illinois.”

Seed Solutions has been serving customers in central and northern Illinois for 7 years. The company focus is on seed for high profitability non-GMO and specialty markets, as well as seed corn hybrids and Roundup Ready® soybean varieties.

“The heart of Illinois is one of the best places for marketing non-GMO soybeans, with local crushing sites, export processors, increasing demand for Ultra Low-Lin Oils, and access to good river markets as well. Adding more than $100 per acre to the bottom line is common with the premiums we have witnessed here in Illinois for 2009 grain contracting.”

“We have had good representation from Seed Solutions in the past through our Schillinger Round Up Ready brand brand and look forward to good expansion in Central Illinois for eMerge Genetics through Seed Solutions”, added Corey Nikkel, Director of Sales and Marketing for Schillinger.
