Schillinger Genetics announces the relocation of the Iowa Research Station to 8714 Hwy T38N, Grinnell. The new facility will allow Schillinger Genetics to better serve Iowa farmers with new products unique in chemical composition for new food and feed opportunities and marking opportunities.

Since launching theirNon–GMO soybeans under the eMerge™ brand in 2008, Schillinger Genetics has continued to attract the interest of international buyers for food and feed markets.Schillinger 240, for example, is the preferred bean of may tofu makers in Japan. Before a farmer buys a bag of eMerge™ soybeans, he’ll most likely know specifically his grain premium and which food or feed product his crop will supply. The end users, tofu makers in this example, will know exactly where the beans come from, and be assured that they are free of GMOs.

“It‘s a win:win situation,” says John Schillinger, President of SG.“The new facility in Grinnell allows us to expand the testing, lab services and development research for earlier maturity soybeans and the location is convenient for showcasing new products to international and domestic clients.”

Schillinger Genetics has ten full–time employees at the Grinnell station, plus up to ten seasonal employees during the summer. The corn program is also centered at the new facility and has provided key new inbreds for eMerge™ Genetics.

An Open House is planned for June 22, 2010, in celebration of the new location.A mid-summer event is planned for growers, dealers, and grain buyers, and the fall field day will feature variety and hybrid product lines.

The corporate office for Schillinger Genetics is located in West Des Moines, and other research stations are located in Queenstown, Maryland, and Vandalia, Illinois.
