Schillinger Genetics held its Open House on June 22nd at the new Grinnell, IA research station and invited area farmers, neighbors, ag retailers and lenders. The day was very informative as the breeding staff explained what their core initiatives are with their respective programs. They also provided a close up view in how a desirable corn hybrid or soybean variety actually makes it to the marketplace by showing how a cross is made all the way to how the product is tested to evaluate how it performs in various conditions and environments.eMerge Genetics, the non-GMO soybean brand under the Schillinger Genetics umbrella is different than a typical seed company because it focuses its efforts on not just yield or quantity that a grower produces but also on the quality of the grain itself.“We could actually be called a food company or feed ingredient company to many end users because we concentrate our efforts in increasing the value of the soybean itself”, states Wayne Hoener, VP of Sales.“We don’t want to be a typical commodity type of seed company. Our mission is to increase the value enough so everyone from the producer to the consumer sees a benefit with our products.”

Non-GMO Perspectives

The eMerge brand offer’s Non-Gmo soybean varieties and Non-Gmo corn hybrids that are not only developed for high yields and defensive characteristics but also for output traits as well. We make it our mission to not just sell seed but also help connect the farm to the food chain. The eMerge team’s desire is to provide our customers great products and great service from people you will like doing business with.
